Supporting Our Communities

India is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. In recent months, the pandemic has impacted countless individuals and families, including those within our communities.

Through WPP Foundation in India, WPP has a longstanding relationship with Americares India Foundation, which is currently working to provide critical support to people in need during the pandemic through medical supplies like oxygen concentrators and oxygen cylinders. 

What’s Happening?

India is gripped with a severe second wave of coronavirus infections, setting global records for new infections each day over the past few days. Americares is working with communities, health workers and dedicated COVID-19 facilities to address the growing challenge of COVID-19 across India in the following ways:

Strengthening COVID-19 Health Facilities

Supporting 25 existing COVID health facilities with life saving equipment like Oxygen concentrators, ventilators among others

Protecting Health Workers

Provision of PPE, N95 masks, 3-ply masks and disinfectants to around 3,000 health workers across 25 facilities expected to treat 27,000 COVID-19 patients over the next 6 months.

Preparing Communities

Provision of 1 million 3-ply masks for 500,000 community members as well as COVID awareness and vaccination education to 60,000 community members.
